Materials:
72% Corriedale,
14% bamboo,
8% bio-nylon,
6% tensile.
I made hand blended this Art Batt containing deep ocean shades using Corriedale wool, bamboo fibres, bio-nylon and tensile. To give a little texture here and there I added bamboo staple fibres. You will receive the art batt in the deep ocean colourway as shown in the pictures. This art batt weights 100 grams (3.5 oz).
The materials for this art batt were hand selected and carded using my 11 inch extra wide drum carder.
Art Batts are great for spinning, wet felting or needle felting. As they are made mostly of wool they will be straight forward to spin - excellent for a beginner.
Spinning from an art batt can be daunting for a beginner. I find it easier to split the art batt into long sections about the width of roving. this makes it a little more manageable.
The wool I use will felt. Please use caution when washing your finish product to avoid felting. Color bleeding may occur when washing, so wash separately.
Photos were taken without filters to ensure the most accurate color and texture. However, different screens may display colors differently.
Don't Spin?
Try covering an empty clean jar with thin sections of fibre from this batt and attaching them with a good layer of mod podge and water mixed. Once dry, pop some twinkle lights in the jar and enjoy the light ~ ♥ ~
